Celtic Soccer Academy Camp with Special Guest Appearance from Landon Donovan
A unique opportunity for youth soccer players, Celtic Football Club has partnered with San Diego Football Academy and Landon Donovan to provide a week long training camp in San Diego, California.
The Celtic Football Club Youth Academy has partnered with San Diego Football Academy to provide the opportunity for boys and girls of all abilities to attend an authentic UK training camp with an American superstar Landon Donovan.
“We are very excited to partner with a world-class organization like Celtic FC,” said Johnson Asiedu, SDFA Technical Director. “Celtic is more than just a football club. It’s a family. It’s a way of life, and we are happy to be a part of this family.”
Founded in 1887, the Celtic Football Club was formed as a means to alleviate poverty in the East End of Glasgow. The club now boasts 40,000 season ticket holders and millions of fans worldwide. Its stadium, which is also known as Paradise, has a capacity of 60,506, making it the second largest club stadium in the UK.
According to U.S. Soccer, Donovan is a legend. The all-time leader in goals and assists for the U.S. Men’s National Team as well as Major League Soccer, Donovan’s rise as a U-17 MNT forward to staring at the 2002 and 2010 FIFA World Cups is remarkable.
With 12 FIFA World Cup appearances and five World Cup goals, Donovan deserves this recognition. Donovan played in the 2000 Sydney Olympics and is a 6-time MLS Cup Champion and considered the best homegrown soccer player America has ever produced. He is also warm, personable and dedicated to helping youth soccer players develop their skills and passion for the world’s most beautiful sport.

Celtic Football Club is delighted to be working in partnership with San Diego Football Academy and to be able to reach out to youth soccer players in the Southern California area. The Celtic Soccer Academy 2016 summer camp program provides the opportunity for youth players from age 7 to 18 — of all abilities — to develop their skills and passion.
The camp program follows specific soccer related themes designed by Celtic Soccer Academy coaches which will allow each player to develop their technique through individual and group practices.
