Every Soccer Star Should Have His Own Museum
Leo Messi is now making time for in-store appearances – at least for the official opening of the first Spanish “adidas HomeCourt” store in Barcelona. Rightfully so, the Argentinian icon was the guest of honour during the otherwise star studded evening.
Leo was the first to enter the store and experience the special area dedicated to his record breaking career. “Leo´s Museum” houses a range of interesting artefacts from his already dazzling career, including replicas of his four FIFA World Player of the Year Awards, special editions of the adizero f50 Messi, and his match worn shirt from the 2014 FIFA World Cup Final.
The adidas HomeCourt brings to life adidas’ proud and authentic sports heritage and provides the consumer with a unique and interactive shopping experience. HomeCourt premiered in Beijing, China, at the beginning of 2014 and has been implemented in more than 20 stores globally over the course of the past year.
Last year, adidas introduced its new, interactive store concept designed to turn normal retail into a place where shoppers can feel the energy of the game, the thrill of the event and the frenzy of the fans.
His heart in his mouth. The competition is about to start any second now. The stadium is sold out, thousands of fans are out there, elated, singing. It is this mixture of tension, concentration and anticipation that sends a chill down his spine. Every single time. Again and again. The energy is almost tangible, he loves it. And he knows: he can do this. This is just the start of a journey packed with emotions.
Every athlete strives for such moments of intensity.
Shoppers – who have been demanding more before opening their wallets in recent years — can enjoy the thrill of possibility while buying the soccer stuff they need today to keep their dreams for tomorrow alive.
Now, besides shopping for cleats that Messi wears, you can walk through a museum dedicated to why you care about buying the cleats Messi wears.
