Manchester City collaborates with social sports community, ZogSport to create themed tournaments across the United States.
Manchester City has today announced a collaboration with ZogSports, the largest social sports community in the United States. This deal is the first of its kind to see a soccer club and ZogSports team up to deliver joint events.
ZogSports is America’s most popular social sports community, with over 120,000 players forming millions of new friendships every year. Founded by Robert Herzog after 9/11 when he watched his co-workers perish in the World Trade Center tragedy, ZogSports was created to bring like-minded people together to have fun, give back and create community. The idea is to make playing for charity a core part of the social sports experience.
The collaboration will see two Manchester City -themed tournaments per year take place throughout all seven ZogSports locations: Chicago, Los Angeles, New Jersey, New York City, San Francisco, San Jose and Washington DC.
The first will take place on Saturday, April 13th in San Jose and New Jersey.
Players participating in the tournament will each be given Manchester City t-shirts to wear on the day, with City -themed prizes on offer to the winners.
In line with ZogSports’ Play For Your Cause initiative, where a percentage of profits made at each tournament are donated to charity, money raised from the Manchester City events will be donated to Cityzens Giving projects in the United States.
“We are very excited to be collaborating with ZogSports and delivering joint tournaments across the United States. ZogSports shares our passion for bringing the community together through sport and we are looking forward to being part of the fun atmosphere of their events,” said Nuria
“Bringing Manchester City to these tournaments is a great way for us to reach new fans and be part of soccer’s growth across the United States. The proceeds going towards our global community initiative, Cityzens Giving, also ensures a long-term impact to our soccer programmes in America. We can’t wait to get started this weekend.”
