Santa Clarita Blue Heat Partners With TeamFirst Soccer Academy and Get Top Notch Help
Santa Clarita Blue Heat will be partnering with TeamFirst Soccer Academy as the UWS club prepares to host a two-day youth soccer camp.
USWNT former soccer stars and academy owners Mia Hamm, Kristine Lilly and Tisha Venturini Hoch will host the Santa Clarita Blue camp in order to prove youth players the opportunity to take their skills to the next level.
UWS Soccer News: The defending 2016 United Women’s Soccer League champion Santa Clarita Blue Heat will be hosting an official TeamFirst Soccer Academy camp at The Master’s College on Saturday/Sunday, March 11-12.
Blue Heat Owner and Technical Director Carlos Marroquin has hosted TFSA in the past, which is known for a trio of U.S. Women’s National Team legends as their founders: Mia Hamm, Kristine Lilly and Tisha Venturini Hoch.
Hamm is one of the best women’s soccer players of all time with 158 goals and 144 assists as she represented her country 275 times during her 17-year career. Lilly is the most decorated women’s soccer player of all-time with 352 caps — the most international appearances for any American man or woman. Venturini Hoch scored 44 goals, represented her country 132 times in her nine-year National Team career and played in the Olympic Games and two Women’s World Cups.
“We are excited to be back in Southern California and partner with the Santa Clarita Blue Heat,” said Hamm. “Congratulations to them for winning the UWS league title in 2016. We had a great camper turnout the last time we were in Santa Clarita and we hope for another great atmosphere in March!”
“Carlos has been a big supporter of women’s soccer and we love his passion to bring high level soccer opportunities to Southern California,” said Lilly. “He has been a great partner and we will look forward to a fun few days in Santa Clarita.”
The TeamFirst Soccer Academy seeks to provide youth soccer players a first class opportunity to develop as an individual player as well developing discipline for unselfish play. It is the academy’s goal to encourage players to respect the integrity of the game while they continue to nurture their love for soccer.
The TeamFirst philosophy revolves around three key on-the-field characteristics: be a personality; be a playmaker; be a factor. Personality creates a player that knows how to excel individually but still be a team player. Playmakers play unselfishly and create for themselves and their teammates. When you become a factor on the field, you make a difference for yourself and for your team.
Every camper will receive a Nike Soccer Ball, Nike T-shirt, autographed player card and camp team photo.
