Seven New Jersey Teams Advance to National Presidents Cup in US Youth Soccer Region I over Memorial Day Weekend Play
New Jersey dominates US Youth Soccer Presidents Cup
Seven teams were crowned champions over Memorial Day Weekend at the US Youth Soccer Region 1 Presidents Cup in New Jersey. Due to age restrictions, six of the seven teams will travel to the 2016 US Youth Soccer National Presidents Cup in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to compete in a weekend of competitive youth soccer in the United States.
Youth Soccer News: This Memorial Day Weekend brought a lot of success to New Jersey teams in the US Youth Soccer Region 1 (East) Presidents Cup. Of the 12 total champions between the ages of U12-U17, seven teams hailed from New Jersey. There were four teams on the boys’ side and three on the girls’ side. Six of the seven New Jersey champions, advance to the 2016 US Youth Soccer National Presidents Cup in July 14-17 as only teams U13 and older can advance to compete in the championship in Tulsa, Okla.

“The boys and girls teams worked so hard to win on the state level and it was a pleasure to see their success continue at the regional event,” said Buddy Hart, NJYS Games Commissioner. “We look forward to supporting these teams as they move on to compete for a national title.”
A total of 102 US Youth Soccer teams contended in the 3-day tournament after winning their respective State Presidents Cup events from the 15 states within the Region- Connecticut, Delaware, Eastern New York, New York West, Eastern Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania West, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia and West Virginia. The Presidents Cup Series allows players to compete against the best teams within their state, region, and if possible the nation to be crowned champions.
