Soccer News: San Fernando Valley Scorpions Join L.A. Valley Conference
The United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) announced the San Fernando Valley Scorpions have joined the UPSL for the 2015/16 Season and are officially a new team member of the UPSL’s L.A. Valley Conference.
The UPSL now consists of three-conferences spanning across Los Angeles County which includes Los Angeles County, Orange County, Ventura County, and the Inland Empire. With the addition of the SFV Scorpions, the UPSL teams currently consists of 23 teams, all based in Southern California and the league is targeting over 30 teams in So Cal for the 2015 campaign.
The San Fernando Valley Scorpions will be participating in the 2015 UPSL “Admiral” League Cup which kicks off the weekend of February 7-8, 2015 and concludes in June. The Scorpions will also start league play in May, in the UPSL Pro Premier Division, in the newly created LA Valley Conference.
Lekan Gbadamosi, President of the San Fernando Valley Scorpions said, “We are very excited to be a part of a dynamic league as we been looking for this type of promotion-relegation league structure for a long time. We are a very competitive club and hope to provide our community with very entertaining football. We know that joining the UPSL will give us a great opportunity and at the same time will challenge our players to a professional and competitive level. We look forward to the competition the UPSL has to offer.”
United Premier Soccer League Yan Skwara Commissioner commented, “We are very excited to announce that the San Fernando Valley Scorpions have joined our league as a new member of the L.A. Valley Conference. We welcome the Scorpions and their ownership group, players and fans to the UPSL family of teams and look forward to seeing our new L.A. Valley Conference expand with the Scorpions leading the charge.”
