Registration is now open for New Jersey Youth Soccer’s Spring 2022 State Cups competitions, which includes the National Championship Series, Presidents Cup and Challenge Cup. The NJYS State Cups will be played in their traditional format this spring, with 15U to 19U teams participating in a single elimination tournament.
To standardize experiences across all competitions, NJ Youth Soccer has combined the policies and rules for all three competitions into a single document and has updated the roster freeze policy to be more accommodating for play-in games. Additionally, NJ Youth Soccer will schedule the semifinals for 15U to 17U age groups, as well as the finals for all age groups, at a neutral site.
To register, teams will need to apply to the NJYS State Cups tournament on Sports Connect, where they will indicate a preferred flight based on their league flighting. To ease the administrative burden for club administrators and coaches, NJ Youth Soccer will use a single registration to manage all three tournaments.
Early registration is available until February 21st for reduced pricing, and registration will officially close on March 7th. For assistance in the registration process, please contact statecups@njyouthsoccer.com.
The NJYS State Cups provide pathways to be crowned champions of the state, region and nation. With the National Championship Series, Presidents Cup and Challenge Cup tournaments, every participating team has the ability to vie for the title of “State Champion” in their age group and bracket.
The National Championship Series is the country’s most prestigious national youth soccer tournament. It provides winners from each state with the opportunity to play against the best competition in the nation while emphasizing teamwork, discipline and fair play.
The Presidents Cup offers participants a platform to play against teams of similar abilities for a national title. It provides a progressive, high-level experience while focusing on competition, camaraderie and community at the state, regional and even national levels of US Youth Soccer.
The Challenge Cup (previously branded as the Commissioners Cup) is the NJYS State Cup that attracts the most teams and provides a third-tier state competition. This tournament hosts travel teams in the 11U to 19U age groups. This state-only tournament is designed to create a challenging and enjoyable event for teams that do not play in the National Championship Series or Presidents Cup.
