More than 900 Guests Attended the 31st Annual NJYS Awards Dinner at the Pines Manor in Edison
Youth Soccer News: New Jersey Youth Soccer recently hosted its 31st Annual NJYS Awards Dinner presented by RWJBarnabas Health, where many players, coaches and members of the soccer community participated in the celebration.
With more than 900 guests in attendance at the Pines Manor in Edison, N.J., the 2019 event was the largest in its 31-year history.
“It was a banner night for NJ Youth Soccer,” said Evelyn Gill, NJYS President.
“Among the many highlights of the evening was the induction of long-time The College of New Jersey women’s soccer and ODP head coach Joe Russo into the NJYS Hall of Fame,” said Gill. “Also, New Jersey native and professional player Yael Averbuch delivered a powerful keynote address to a room full of engaged spectators.”
NJYS also honored many volunteers, coaches, players and scholarship winners throughout the night with awards provided by Wilson Trophy, the official supplier of NJYS and US Youth Soccer.
Representatives from the U.S. Soccer Federation and US Youth Soccer were among the guests at the event, and college soccer coaches from local universities such as Rutgers University, Rider University, Monmouth University, Rowan Universit, and TCNJ were also in attendance.
Additionally, more than 20 state, regional and national championship teams were recognized with special presentations, as were ODP coaches and regional players.

Official NJYS partners including RWJBarnabas Health, adidas, Sky Blue FC, New York Red Bulls, Philadelphia Union, JAG-ONE Physical Therapy and Stack Sports activated on-site to the delight of the players. Microsoft, Soccer Post, Topps Trading Cards, US Soccer, Major League Soccer, iPlay America, Sips & Kicks and GraceChurch also contributed door prizes to the festivities.
