NJ Youth Soccer’s TOPSoccer Players Enjoy VIP Night With New York Red Bulls
TOPSoccer, The Outreach Program for Soccer, is a community-based training and team placement program for young athletes with disabilities, organized by youth soccer association volunteers. The program is designed to bring the opportunity of learning and playing soccer to any boy or girl who has a mental or physical disability.
NJ Youth Soccer and the New York Red Bulls celebrated TOPSoccer night at the Red Bull Arena on Sunday. All TOPSoccer coaches, players, buddies and families were invited to the celebration which took place during the match-up against the defending MLS Cup champions, LA Galaxy. “TOPSoccer gives players with disabilities the opportunity to be part of the NJ Youth Soccer family and to foster growth both physically and emotionally through soccer,” said Carol Cordiner, NJYS TOPSoccer Program Director. “The dedication of our volunteers makes this program successful for our players and their families.”
More than 100 players, volunteers, coaches, families and friends enjoyed a night of family fun designed for the TOPSoccer participants. Beyond a great MLS match featuring the top talent in this country, participants enjoyed a private player meet and greet with midfielder Leo Stolz and defender Anthony Wallace. “The Red Bulls are big proponents that soccer should be a vehicle for children of all ages and abilities,” said David Jervis, Director of Training Programs. “Both in the community and at our games at Red Bulls Arena, we are honored to be part of the NJYS TOPSoccer program.”
TOPSoccer players received commemorative gifts from NJ Youth Soccer and the Red Bulls to show appreciation for their commitment and dedication to this community based program.
