Soccer News: For the first time in history, the North American Freestyle Soccer Championships will be held in the United States of America.
The very best soccer freestylers from all over the US, Canada and Mexico will be descending on the Rimac Arena, at the University of California, San Diego on December 6, 2015. They will battle it out and see who will be crowned the champion of the continent with Mexico’s Esteban ‘El Pantera’ will be aiming to retain his title from 2014.
However California is home to some world class talent who will be looking to impress on home ground. Freestyle Soccer is relatively new as a sport, although as an entertainment and art form has been around for well over 2000 years! Today it can be seen everywhere, from the streets to the big stadiums and to get involved, quite simply all you need is a ball! It combines style, creativity and extreme technical skill on the soccer ball.
During this event the athletes will be juggling the soccer ball, using all parts of their body, demonstrating acrobatic moves and exciting tricks to try and outperform their opponents. The battles last 3 minutes and a live DJ will be mixing the tracks up throughout.
It is set to be a jam packed day of soccer entertainment and competition, as the stage welcomes local entertainers, International guests and YouTube stars including the current Red Bull Street Style World Champion Andrew Henderson as head judge. Andrew will be joined on the judging panel by Jayzinho and Europe’s finest Panna player and Freestyler Soufiane Bencok. There is something for the whole family too with prizes to be won and lots of social media fun to engage with.
The event is supported by SWRL, TheFC, Cheetos, San Diego Surf Soccer and The Whistle Sports in conjunction with the World Freestyle Soccer Federation.
