Soccer News: Miami Fusion FC Defeats Kraze United
Raphael Carminatti scored in extra time as the Miami Fusion took down host Kraze United 2-1 at the University of Central Florida.
From the onset, the Fusion controlled the game with several early chances at scoring.
“We came out flat against a very good team,” said Kraze United head coach Joe Avallone. “And you can’t play one half against a very good team. We played one half today, we had plenty of chances in the second half. We did enough to win the game.”
Miami got on the board mid-way through the first half, when defender Samir Oscar Garcia sent a free ball in the back of the net after a pair of saves by Kraze keeper Drew Troutman.
Kraze United (2-1) held the Fusion at bay the rest of the second half as both teams couldn’t capitalize on several chances to score.
As the team’s opened the second half, Kraze United got on the board, when Bay Downing connected on a floating header near the 11-meter mark.
“Even though we did enough in the second half to win, we got punished at the very end in extra time,” Avallone added. “We’ll learn, we have a young team and we are learning every day.”
Kraze United travels to South Florida for a pair of games against Storm FC on June 5 and Weston FC on June 7.
