Pierce County FC Joins the NPSL for 2017 Season
The NPSL continues to expand as its latest club in Pierce County, Washington, prepares to take the field for the 2017 season. Pierce County FC’s ownership will provide its players with extensive experience in the game that includes guidance from Italian coaching development.
NPSL Soccer News: The National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) has announced Pierce County FC as the latest club set to compete in the West Region’s Northwest Conference.
The club will be led by Owner Giuseppe Pezzano, General Manager Paolo Mottola and Sporting Director Stefano Radio.
Pezzano has been working in professional soccer for the past 15 years and has many contacts in Italy to help develop the club. Radio is co-owner of College Life, an American company that brings Italian soccer players to the U.S. in order to help them receive scholarships.
“We expect to play and compete at a high level, and even though this will be our first year, we are confident that this club will add a lot to the Northwest Conference,” Pezzano noted. “We will bring strong soccer players to our area raising the level of competition in our conference. The partnership and network will also open up opportunities for players to be seen by colleges throughout the states, creating scholarship and study opportunities.”
PCFC will play its home matches throughout Pierce County to give new fans the opportunity to see the club compete. The club plans to do a contest for local fans and supporters to design a new team logo for the 2018 NPSL season. The hope is for the logo to be updated in order to reflect the local culture of the region. Further details will be released by PCFC in the near future.
