Washington Spirit Sell Out Match Against Orlando Pride
Women’s soccer match sold out! Congratulations — Washington Spirit are set to host Orlando Pride this Saturday in front of a sold out crowd at Maureen Hendricks Field. Washington sits one point behind league leaders Chicago Red Stars and WNY Flash as the Maryland club prepares for a tough battle against a successful expansion side.
Soccer News: Saturday’s NWSL regular season game at Maureen Hendricks Field between hosts Washington Spirit and the visiting Orlando Pride has sold out.
Fans are encouraged to arrive early in order to ensure entry by the 7 p.m. kickoff, with General Admission category ticket holders encouraged to arrive as early as 5:30 p.m. in order to secure the best views of the game. To assist with getting all fans through security and gates in time, gates will open at 5:30 p.m., 30 minutes earlier than normal. Additional food vending options will also be provided to accommodate the crowds.
The team will announce special activities later this week related to remembrance and support of the victims of this past weekend’s tragedy in Orlando.
The game versus Orlando is the first of four consecutive Saturday evening home games at Maureen Hendricks Field, each starting at 7 p.m. The Spirit (4-1-2, 14 pts.) sit just one point out of first place in the league with one fewer game played than all teams near them in the standings. The Spirit will host just three more home games in the regular season following this four-game set, but could also host a September playoff semifinal if finishing in the top two league positions.
