NWSL Players Join Australia W-League for Offseason
Professional soccer players are constantly on the pitch with the offseason not an exception for crafting their game further. Numerous players from the NWSL will call Australia home for the winter break as they join the Westfield W-League until the kickoff of the American league season.
The rise of the NWSL has put the league’s quality on the world stage as the W-League prepares to kick off this weekend.
NWSL Soccer News: With the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) currently in its offseason, players have taken their talents to the Australia Westfield W-League for its 2016/17 campaign.
With the fourth NWSL season coming to a close at the beginning of October, many players seek to continue their development and remain in top form during the offseason. The NWSL has gained prominence over recent years as harboring some of the top talent in women’s soccer.
During the 2016 Summer Olympics, a total of 38 players were representing their countries in Rio with all 10 NWSL clubs having at least one player making an appearance during the tournament.
With the W-League season concluding prior to the start of the NWSL campaign in the spring, the Australian playing option remains ideal for those wishing to remain on the pitch over the winter break.
The Westfield W-League kicks off its 2016/17 season on Saturday with matches played during the late night in the United States due to time difference.
