New York City FC Partners With San Antonio FC
New York City FC and San Antonio FC have announced a partnered that will provide each club with access to resources in order to take their organizations to the next level. The partnership includes an element of player movement, giving San Antonio FC the opportunity to strengthen their USL roster through player loans from NYCFC during the 2017 season.
Soccer News: New York City FC announced an affiliation agreement with United Soccer League (USL) team San Antonio FC last week as the partnership will result in organizational collaboration for both on and off the field initiatives.
“We’re happy to announce our affiliation with San Antonio FC,” said Claudio Reyna, Sporting Director of New York City FC. “ This will be an important affiliation for NYCFC with an ambitious, forward-thinking club like San Antonio FC which shares our drive to grow the game within their own passionate soccer community.”
The partnership will facilitate the sharing of best practices between the two clubs as well as between Spurs Sports & Entertainment and City Football Group – the controlling entity of NYCFC.
“We look forward to cooperating with our new partners and are excited by this tremendous boost headed into the 2017 season,” said Tim Holt, Managing Director of San Antonio FC.
The two clubs will utilize experiences on both sides in regards to marketing, community relations, player development, academy expansion and growth.
An open-door policy will provide coaches the opportunity to observe training sessions and matches, as well as share soccer and business expertise between the two organizations.

San Antonio FC’s parent company Spurs Sports & Entertainment also owns NBA’s San Antonio Spurs, WNBA’s San Antonio Stars, the American Hockey League’s San Antonio Rampage and the NBA D League’s Austin Spurs, while operating the AT&T Center and Toyota Field.
