PDL Playoffs Continue Friday in Conference Championships
Conference Championships of the PDL Playoffs continue over the weekend as 16 teams remain in the hunt for glory. PDL Top Prospects will highlight the weekend as the Michigan Bucks lead the league with 36 points during the regular season, while OKC Energy U23 tops the Southern Conference.

The Western, Southern and Central Conference Championships will be played Friday and Saturday, while the Eastern Conference Championship is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday.
Many of the 2016 PDL Top Prospects will be in action over the weekend, including Ocean City Nor’easters teammates Chevaughn Walsh and Miguel Jaime, South Florida Surf midfielder Lucas Coutinho, Michigan Bucks defender Alhassan Abubakar, FC Tucson midfielder Tate Schmitt, Charlotte Eagles defender Macauley King and more.
The Bucks finished the regular season with 36 points during the regular season – more than any other team across the league. The Eagles finished with the most points in the Eastern Conference, Tucson earned the top seed in the Western Conference and the OKC Energy U23 had the most wins in the Southern Conference.
Southern Conference Championship
Three of the four 2016 Southern Conference Championship participants will be playing in the PDL Playoffs for the first time. Midland/Odessa Sockers FC, the only team with PDL Playoffs experience, faces off against The Villages SC in the first semifinal at 6 p.m. ET on Friday, while the Energy U23 take on the Surf at 9 p.m. ET from Taft Stadium. The final will take place at 4 p.m. ET on Saturday.
Central Conference Championship
Each of the four 2016 Central Conference Championship participants have won a PDL Championship in their history. K-W United FC faces off against the Des Moines Menace at 5 p.m. ET in the first semifinal from the Ultimate Soccer Arena on Friday, while the Bucks take on the Chill at 7:30 p.m. ET in the second semifinal. The winners will play at 7:30 p.m. ET in the final on Saturday.
Eastern Conference Championship
Two Mid Atlantic Division sides and two South Atlantic Division sides remain from the Eastern Conference. The Eagles will play the Nor’easters at 5 p.m. ET in the first semifinal from Don Thomas Stadium on Saturday, and Reading United AC will host the Carolina Dynamo at 7:30 p.m. ET in the second semifinal. The winners will meet in the final at 7 p.m. ET on Sunday.
Western Conference Championship
Each participant in the Western Conference Championship has a PDL Top Prospect from the latest edition of the Top 50. Calgary Foothills FC will play the Force at 9 p.m. ET in the first semifinal on Friday, while Tucson takes on Burlingame Dragons FC at 11 p.m. ET in the second semifinal. The Western Conference Championship final is scheduled for 10:30 p.m. ET on Saturday. All games will be played at Kino North Stadium.
