Soccer News: Josh Cohen PDL Player of the Week
Burlingame Dragons FC goalkeeper Josh Cohen has been named the PDL Player of the Week for the third week of the 2015 season after he recorded back-to-back shutouts to lead the Dragons to a pair of road victories to open the club’s inaugural season.
Cohen was in outstanding form as he recorded 10 saves in the Dragons’ 1-0 victory against the Fresno Fuego on Friday night. He then put in another solid performance on Sunday, with two saves in Burlingame’s 1-0 win against Golden State Misioneros.

D – Tom Wharf, Long Island Rough Riders: Earned a second consecutive selection after his goal proved the game-winner in a key early-season win against Jersey
D – Tyrin Hutchings, Calgary Foothills FC: Strong throughout, particularly in the air, as Calgary took victory in its inaugural contest in the PDL against Puget Sound
D – Matt Baker, Lehigh Valley: Put in a solid display as the LVU Sonic earned a scoreless draw with Reading United in their first outing in the PDL
D – Lalas Abubakar, Charlotte Eagles: Had a goal and an assist, and also helped stifle SC United defensively, as the Eagles swept to a 5-0 victory
M – Malcolm Harris, Baltimore Bohemians: Scored a pair of goals as the Bohs opened the season with victory against Westchester
M – Mark Heath-Preston, Des Moines Menace: Scored the only goal as the Menace claimed their 200th victory in the PDL with a win against Springfield
M – Luis Martinez, FC Tucson: Was instrumental in Tucson’s 2-1 victory against Ventura County, and scored the winner in a key early-season contest
F – David Goldsmith, Michigan Bucks: Scored the first goal as the Bucks opened the defense of their PDL title with victory against TFC Academy
F – Dion Peters, West Virginia Chaos: Notched a hat trick in the opening 17 minutes as the Chaos took victory against Derby City
F – Alex Tejera, New York Red Bulls U23: Scored a pair of goals as NYRB U23 claimed a 3-1 win against F.A. Euro in its first contest in the PDL
