Portugal Edges Spain in UEFA Futsal Euro 2018 Final
Futsal News: Portugal was crowned UEFA Futsal Euro 2018 champions on Saturday night in Ljubljana, Slovenia, following a 3-2 win versus Spain at Arena Stožice. 10,352 spectators were in attendance as Portugal hoisted its first European title.
Ricardinho scored the opener 59 seconds into the match after dispossessing Spain in its own half. Marc Tolrà answered back for Spain in the 19th minute to go into halftime level. Spain took the lead in the 32nd minute off a set piece with Lin on the scoring end, but Portugal’s Bruno Coelho brought the match level with two minutes left to play during regulation. Coelho converted from the penalty spot in the final minute of overtime to give Portugal the lead. Spain was unable to answer back during the remaining time. Captain Ricardinho was named the first-ever UEFA Futsal EURO Player of the Tournament after finishing with seven goals.
