US Youth Soccer Postpones National League Sarasota 2021
Marley Wilson, Director, USYS Competitions announced earlier today the postponement of the National League Sarasota event scheduled to take place Jan. 15- 17, 2021.
Earlier today another major youth soccer event was postponed because of the Coronavirus. The impact of the COVID-19 on youth soccer can not be underestimated. While it is always sad and disappointing to see a major youth soccer event canceled or pushed due to the pandemic, it is important that the health and safety of all players, coaches, and parents remain the top priority.
Here is the announcement from US Youth Soccer – Marley Wilson Director, USYS Competitions:
Given the increasing number of COVID cases, and with the health of our soccer community in mind, US Youth Soccer is postponing the National League Sarasota event scheduled to take place Jan. 15- 17, 2021.
This postponement includes both the Showcase Series and Playoff competitions. New dates and/or location for the rescheduled event are being determined and will be announced at a future time. Teams have been contacted to provide their input on potential reschedule dates.
With the health and safety of all participants as our top priority, we believe it is not in the best interest of the teams and families to travel at this time. By postponing, we will be able to reschedule the events to ensure we can provide a safe experience that is beneficial to all participants. With reduced barriers for teams, players, families and scouts, we look forward to providing an optimal showcase environment for you and your team to attend.
We appreciate your understanding and hope to see you on the field in the coming months. We’d like to thank all of our USYS National League families, staff and volunteers for your ongoing support of USYS as we manage our programming given the current health and travel environment. The safety and security of our soccer community is, and always will be, our highest priority.
