Saint Katherine College Welcomes New Men’s and Women’s Head Coach
San Diego native Evan Camperell joins Saint Katherine’s Soccer Program as Director of Coaching and Head Coach for both programs. Camperell brings coaching experience within the Community College System and at the D3 and D2 levels as well as playing experience at the University of Redlands.
Soccer News from Saint Katherine: Saint Katherine College has appointed Evan Camperell as Director of Soccer and Head Coach of the Men’s and Women’s Soccer program. Evan Camperell brings coaching experience within the Community College System as well as formerly being the head coach at Lincoln University.
Saint Katherine is a current NCCAA member (National Christian College Athletic Association) and plans to join the NAIA in 2017.
The 2016 season will mark the eleventh intercollegiate soccer season overall as a head coach for Camperell. It will also mark his first season at the helm of the Saint Katherine College (NCCAA) men’s and women’s soccer programs. At the intercollegiate level Camperell has served as a head coach within the California Community College System, NAIA, NCAA (D3), and NCAA (D2).
Most recently Camperell served as the head women’s soccer coach at Lincoln University (NCAA D2) located near Philadelphia PA. In 2014 the women’s soccer team finished the fall season with the second best record/winning percentage in the history of the program (D2 era). The team was also honored in both 2014 and 2015 by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America with the “College Team Academic Award”. In 2015 the program was a recipient of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America “Team Ethics & Sportsmanship Award” (Gold).
Camperell has also previously served as the head men’s soccer coach at MiraCosta College 2007-10 (Oceanside CA-JUCO), head women’s soccer coach at Eastern Nazarene College 2006-07 (Quincy MA-NCAA 3), head men’s & women’s soccer coach at Alliant International University-San Diego 2004-06 (San Diego CA-NAIA), and as the head men’s soccer coach at the University of the Southwest 2003-04 (Hobbs NM-NAIA).
