Sky Blue’s Sam Kerr Leads Perth Glory to Victory
Sam Kerr of Sky Blue FC continued her scoring streak as she netted two goals in Perth Glory’s 4-1 win over Adelaide United on Saturday. Kerr leads the Westfield W-League with five goals on the season as her side is now level with Canberra United at the top of the table.

NWSL Soccer News: Perth Glory won its third consecutive match over the weekend in Westfield W-League competition, going on the road and edging Adelaide United, 4-1.
Sky Blue FC forward Sam Kerr is an Australian playmaker who continued her offensive form by recording a brace, bringing her season total to a league-leading five goals. Her first tally opened the scoring in the 34th minute as she finished a shot from 18 yards out. Her second goal of the game came in the 66th minute to give Perth a 3-1 lead, which then went onto the eventual 4-1 victory.
Before playing for Sky Blue FC, Kerr was on the Western New York Flash team where she had a great 2014 season. Kerr has also played for the Matildas in the 2011 FIFA Women’s World Cup, where she earned two starts.
Also, Sky Blue FC midfielder Nikki Stanton played virtually the entire match for Perth as well, making the start and not being substituted until the third minute of second half stoppage time.
Currently the hottest side in the W-League, Perth is riding a three-game winning streak and is now level with Canberra United atop the W-League table. On the season, Perth is 4-1-1 for a total of 13 points.
