Baltimore Blast Remain Atop The Eastern Division
Soccer News: The Baltimore Blast improved to 5-0 with an 8-5 victory over the San Diego Sockers in front of 8,953 fans at the Royal Farms Arena.
The Blast used two goals in the space of a 1:03 late in the first quarter from Juan Pereira and Pat Healey to take the game from 2-2 to 4-2 and never looked back. Healy and Adriano Dos Santos each scored twice for Baltimore who remain atop the Eastern Division.
Kraig Chiles took his goal tally to 251 with a penalty shot and is now just three away from tying Juli Veee’s record of 254 goals in a Sockers’ Jersey.
Both Evan McNeley and Nick Perera marked their returns to the line-up with goals. Perera finished with one goal and two assists to lead the Sockers in scoring.
San Diego however can talk a little consolation in the fact that they scored more goals on Baltimore than any other team this season.
The good news for San Diego is that it won’t have any time to dwell on the loss. The Sockers will be back in action Saturday at 2:05pm ET against the Harrisburg Heat.
