Winter Camp Offers Birth Year Groups
San Diego powerhouse, Surf SC is offering two winter camps coached by new Camp Director Paul Dolinsky.
Soccer News: San Diego Surf Soccer Club will be providing birth year groups at this years winter camps. The goal is to provide a positive and enjoyable environment for players to improve over the holiday break. Taking into consideration the new mandates of US Soccer and looking to provide the opportunity for players to be seen in a competitive environment leading into the upcoming season, Surf made the camp groups by birth year.
The camp sessions will be coached by new Camp Director, Paul Dolinsky, and SD Surf Soccer’s elite coaching staff. Dolinsky is a well known youth soccer coach and a former professional player who was one of the best youth soccer players in the USA.
“This camp is an opportunity to stay sharp and have fun playing the game you love over winter break,” said Dolinsky. “The camp also gives players the opportunity for exposure heading into the birth year tryouts in January.”
Is the camp all fun? “Players will receive high level instruction, but also be given the freedom to apply making decisions for themselves,” said Dolinsky. “Learning from both failure and success is important and so is being in a learning environment where players can grow.
Who should come? “Everybody should come. The Surf winter camp is targeted for players between ’08 and ’01 birth years and anybody those ages who is looking to get out and play some good, fun soccer over their break should come. Players from other clubs are welcome to come checkout our program.”
Each day will look as follows:
9:00 am – 9:30 am: Fun, technical warm up introducing topic of the day or reviewing topic from the day before
9:30 am – 10:30 am: Progression of topic of the day in “no pressure” situations and fun games
10:30 am – 11:40 am: Game simulated activities relating to the topic of the day introducing and increasing pressure
11:40 am – Noon: Snack break/light lunch
Noon – 1:00 pm: Match play 8v8 – 11v11

Monday, December 21st – Thursday, December 24th
9:00 am – 1:00 pm
Cost: One FREE week included in SD Surf registration fees**
$250 for non-registered SD Surf players
$75 per day for drop-ins

At age 16, Camp Director Dolinsky was heralded as the Best Player in America and left home to play go train and play pro soccer in Holland. He trained with Feyenoord, arriving on his sixteenth birthday. A few months later he signed his first professional contract. Now a youth coach at San Diego Surf SC, Dolinsky brings a wealth of knowledge to the pitch and inspires elite players of all ages to reach for the stars.
