Kraig Chiles Nets Four in Dominant Win Over Dallas Sidekicks
The San Diego Sockers were back on the pitch the day after Christmas, recording a dominant road victory over the Dallas Sidekicks. Kraig Chiles scored four goals on the night to lead the Sockers to their third win of the 2018/19 MASL campaign.

MASL Soccer News: The San Diego Sockers recorded a convincing 9-3 road victory versus the Dallas Sidekicks in a post-Christmas Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) matchup on Wednesday night. The Sockers regain their footing after coming off a tough loss to the Tacoma Stars last weekend.
Forward Kraig Chiles tallied four goals on the night, while Christian Gutierrez and Brandon Escoto each recorded a brace at the Allen Event Center in Dallas. Raymundo Reza was the fourth goalscorer for the visiting club. On the defensive end, San Diego goalkeeper Boris Pardo recorded 13 saves to earn the victory.
After a scoreless first quarter, San Diego held a 2-1 advantage heading into halftime led by goals from Escoto and Chiles. Escoto netted the opening goal of the match at the 5:28 mark with Gutierrez tallying the assist. Three minutes later, Chiles collected a pass from Hiram Ruiz and finished past Sidekicks goalkeeper Juan Gamboa.
The Sockers gained control of the match in the third period with two consecutive goals by Chiles in a span of 15 seconds. His second goal of the match came at 1:24 and then his third tally on the power play. Reza extended the lead to 5-1 three minutes into the third quarter. The goal was Reza’s first of the 2018/19 season.
San Diego took commanding control in the final quarter with an additional four goals. Gutierrez tallied his two goals on the night within a three-minute span, while Chiles and Escoto closed out the Sockers’ scoring midway through the period.
VcMor Eligwe notched two goals and Jamie Lovegrove added a late sixth-attacker goal for Dallas, but the comeback was no longer within reach for the hosts.
The Sockers travel to Monterrey, Mexico, to take on the Monterrey Flash for a Western Conference Championship Game rematch on Friday, December 28, at 6:35 p.m. PT.
