FC Bayern Munich Reveals 17/18 Kit
Bundesliga giants FC Bayern Munich celebrated their fifth consecutive league title in recent weeks with the future 2017/18 season now in sight. Bayern Munich will strive to reach UEFA Champions League glory next season as the squad returns numerous members of the current roster.
Soccer Locker Review: adidas Soccer has revealed the FC Bayern Munich home jersey for the 2017/18 season that draws inspiration from one of the most iconic kits in the club’s history — a jersey worn by the likes of Franz Beckenbauer, Uli Hoeness and Gerd Müller during the 70’s.
When a soccer club says, “FC Bayern – Forever Number One,” standing tall in a crowd comes naturally. Wearing the hallmark red color and clean lines makes FCB easily recognizable and stylish.
“You can call us the champions of the world — Forever #1, we’re much better than the rest.”
The new kit pays homage to the past while embracing current technology with technical, breathable fabrics and mesh engineering.
With a big T on the front of the jersey, the new look also pays respect to its T-Mobile sponsor — the German club has teamed up with T–Mobile for several years now and is the team’s shirt sponsor through ’22-23 season.
The red jersey features thin, vertical white stripes alongside the classic adidas three stripes on the shoulder.
FC Bayern’s motto “Mia San Mia” – which roughly translates to “We are who we are” is featured on the back side of the kit.
To mark the launch, adidas has revealed a design film featuring Jürgen Rank, Senior Design Director, discussing the inspiration behind the design. It details the materials used, the journey from ideation to creation and closes by explaining how the latest kit is created to inspire a new wave of players and fans, both on-field and on the streets.
The kit will be seen on the field for the first time when FC Bayern Munich face FC Freiburg on Saturday, May 20th.
