EVAN ROTUNDO CALLED TO U-15 BOYS’ NATIONAL TEAM FOR 2019 TORNEO DELLE NAZIONI
Representing our country is always a great honor and one that San Diego Surf SC’s Evan Rotundo will experience with U.S. Soccer’s U15 Boys’ National Team which is off to compete in the 2019 Torneo
Evan Rotundo has appeared in all six events of the 2018-19 U-15 cycle.
Steve Klein, Academy Director at U.S. Soccer Development Academy club PA Classics will serve as the U-15s’ head coach and oversee the 19-player roster which is made up of 18 players born in 2004 and one born in 2005.
The USA will face India on April 28, Slovenia on April 29 and Mexico on April 30 in the tournament’s group stage.
This international competition, which brings together teams from all over the world, is the first step in preparing for this summer’s 2019 Concacaf U-15 Boys’ Championship.
Evan is no stranger to international competition and has consistently performed well under pressure. His goal in the 2018 Manchester City Cup was broadcast on Univision Deportes and ESPN as well as receiving a “Critical Mention” on Nación ESPN Sports Talk.
Surf SC’s Sporting Director Josh Henderson said, “Evan is different than most youth players in America. The game slows down for him in and around the box in tight spaces which is a special quality that most players never develop. This quality is even more important at the National Team level because all teams are organized and athletic.”
Evan represents everything Surf strives
Josh Henderson – Surf Sporting Director / Vice Presidentfor: creativity, passion, discipline and problem-solving.
Evan Rotundo’s Surf SC team is also 2018 Surf Cup Champions.
