StubHub Center to Host Third Annual 2017 NPSL Player Showcase
The NPSL will be hosting its 2017 Player Showcase at the StubHub Center as top players from the league travel to Carson for a weekend of competition. The event will feature players from all four regions ahead of the 2017 season that kicks off in the coming months.
NPSL Soccer News: The National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) has announced the details for its third annual Player Showcase that will take place January 7-9, 2017, at the StubHub Center in Carson, California.
NPSL is home to players with big dreams of playing professional soccer in the USA and abroad.
“The goal of this event is to give our young players the opportunity to be recognized and get to the next level, and realize their dreams,” Showcase Committee Chairman Kenny Farrell remarked.
“We did not want to inhibit players who may have financial constraints. This is an important commitment from the league to its teams and players, and provides an opportunity for professional coaches, scouts, and agents to experience the talent in the NPSL. We think everyone will be impressed with what they see.”
Underwriting this showcase demonstrates NPSL’s huge commitment to providing opportunities for players. All too often talented players watch chances disappear because of lack of funds — NPSL wants to make a difference.
StubHub Center is Southern California’s home of world-class competition and training facilities for amateur, Olympic, collegiate and professional athletes. StubHub Center is home to five-time MLS Cup Champions LA Galaxy.
The facility is also home of the United States Tennis Association’s (USTA) High Performance Training Center, the national team training headquarters for the U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) and EXOS, an international training center for elite and professional athletes.
“In response to feedback from scouts and coaches, we adjusted the player profile to involve younger players this year,” Farrell continued. “Simply put, the league’s top young talent will be put on display for all to see during three great days at the amazing StubHub Center.”
Past showcase participants that have signed professional contracts include Tyler Pasher, Brian Cunningham, Brenden Alfery, Jackson Eskay and Darvin Ebanks. Mitre, Staples and Kixsports will serve as official sponsors for the 2017 showcase.
This event is exclusive to registered NPSL players from the 2016 season and will feature players from all of the league’s four regions.
For the NPSL players invited to the showcase, there is no fee — costs are covered completely by the NPSL.
“Our goal is to showcase the National Premier Soccer League players to the professional leagues in our country – MLS, NASl and USL,” said Joe Barone, NPSL Chairman of the Board. “I am excited for our players that have been chosen to compete in the event in Los Angeles. I am confident that some players will move have professional opportunities to pursue the dream of making a living playing the game they love.”
NPSL clubs nominated their top players for consideration to represent their region. Nominations were then reviewed by committee members to determine the final invite list.
Training sessions will take place on Saturday, while games will be played on both Sunday and Monday.

All showcase matches are open to the public with no admission fee.
Note from NPSL – Coaches, agents and scouts that are interested in attending the showcase should register with the league by emailing here. All registered coaches, scouts, and agents will receive a comprehensive player information packet in advance and upon check-in.
