Club Tijuana Becomes First Mexican Soccer Team Sponsored by Bud Light
Club Tijuana become the first Mexican club of LIGA MX to be sponsored by Bud Light. The Xolos will host special halftime celebration during the Apertura opener against Monarcas Morelia on Friday.
Soccer News: Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles has a new sponsor. The LIGA MX club is the first Mexican soccer team to be sponsored by Bud Light. The sponsorship was officially announced Wednesday during a news conference at Estadio Caliente.
Club Tijuana President Jorgealberto Hank Inzunza and Gropo Modelo CEO Ricardo Tadeu announced the start of a partnership that can become the start of an epic era for the team and the city.
“We are very happy to be able to sponsor the Xolos,” Tadeu said. “A very few young teams are as successful and count with a faithful fan base. Bud Light wants to support them and continue positioning itself as the best brand of beer in Northern Mexico. It is always present in the best sporting events.”
Tadeu went on to talk about how important it is for both brands to have a partnership and reach common goals to have a successful season. As a gesture of the partnership, Hank presented the beer company CEO with a soccer ball autographed by the entire team.
“We are very excited about this new partnership with the entire company but specifically with Bud Light,” Hank said. “It is an honor that the most important beer in the world signs with a soccer team for the first time and that we are that team.”
Both Club Tijuana and Bud Light are relatively young brands in Mexico but are equally successful. Together, they plan to have a handful of activities throughout the city. Part of that plan is a special halftime celebration during the LIGA MX 2016 Apertura opener against Monarcas Morelia Friday July 15 at Estadio Caliente.
