Roster for the U.S. SOCCER U16 Girls Camp at the National Training Center
36 Highly talented U16 girls have been called up to a special U.S. Soccer National Team training camp in Carson, CA. Four girls are from Southern California — two from San Diego Surf and two from So Cal Blues.
Youth Soccer News: Starting on November 4 and continuing until November 11, 36 highly talented U16 girls will attend a training camp at the U.S. Soccer National Training Center in Southern California.
Selected by Kacey White, the U.S. U-16 Girls National Team head coach, the 36 players are all born in 2002.
Who is Head Coach Kacey White?
Former professional player White joined U.S. Soccer’s coaching staff in April, 2017 and assumed responsibility for the U16 National Team. Prior, White had worked an assistant at training camps for the U14, U15 and U16 girls’. White works closely with U.S. Soccer Women’s Youth National Teams Director April Heinrichs.
As a player for the U.S Women’s National Team from 2006 to 2009, White earned 18 caps.
White played collegiate soccer UNC.
Last U16 Girls Camp in 2017:
This will be the final training camp for the U16 girls. In 2017, there have been four domestic training camps as well as two international trips — one to Belgium and the other to Germany.
According to U.S. Soccer:
This group of players moved up from the U14 level for 2017 and will spend two years as the U16 GNT before moving on to the U-18 level.
These players are all age-eligible for the 2018 U-17 Women’s World Cup, which has an age cut-off of players born on or after January 1, 2001, but will eventually be the core age group for the team that will attempt to qualify for the 2022 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.
