Events Across Country Qualified Teams for 2015 National Championships
United States Youth Futsal’s Regional Championships were hosted in nine cities over the past month, qualifying teams for the 2015 U.S. Youth Futsal National Championships.
More than 575 teams competed in the events, which took place in Boston, Cleveland, Dallas, Kansas City, Naples, Fla., Philadelphia, Richmond, San Diego and St. Louis.
The Northeast Regional Championships hosted 173 teams and the Great Lakes Regional Championships 110 teams, the former the largest tournament in the organization’s history.
All division champions at U9, U10, U11, U12, U13, U14, U16 and U18 receive automatic berths in the U.S. Youth Futsal National Championships, to be contested Feb. 13-16 in Kansas City. Division finalists may apply for at-large bids.
“This year’s U.S. Youth Futsal Regional Championships showcased a truly remarkable quantity and quality of teams from throughout the country,” said John Sciore, the organization’s tournament director. “We look forward to seeing the regional champions competing at the National Championships next month in Kansas City!”
