U-18 Women’s Nation Team to Face Denmark, England and Norway in Spain
Republished News from US Soccer – The U.S. Under-18 Women’s National Team will travel to La Manga, Spain, from Feb. 27 to March 7 for three matches against Under-19 teams as part of the annual event in southwest Spain.
The USA will be coached by U.S. Soccer Women’s Technical Director April Heinrichs who has called up 22 players, 19 born in 1998 and three in 1997.
The USA will be playing against older teams comprised mostly of 1997s and will face Denmark on March 3, England on March 5 and finish with Norway on March 7.
All the players traveling to Spain are age-eligible for the team that will participate in the 2016 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup which has an age cut-off of players born on or after Jan. 1, 1996, but the goal for this age group is to ultimately qualify for the 2018 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.
