Elliott Hord Signs With Yxhults IK
Soccer News: Adding to the list of Aggies playing at the professional level, former UC Davis men’s soccer standout Elliott Hord has signed to play with Yxhults IK in Sweden.
“Elliot has trained very hard to achieve his goal to become a professional player,” Head Coach Dwayne Shaffer said. “I am very happy for him and look forward to watching him succeed at the next level.”
Hord recently appeared in his first match for his new club after spending part of the summer with the Premier Development League’s Fresno Fuego as a midfielder and defender, logging an assist in 11 matches. He then tried out with the Tulsa Roughnecks in the USL PRO and spent time training throughout Europe before joining the Swedish third division side.
A four-year letter winner for the Aggies (2010-13), Hord appeared in 67 matches in the midfield for UC Davis during his career, including 25 starts, finishing with a goal and three assists on 28 shots.
His stint with the Fresno Fuego was a return to his hometown for Hord, who prepped at Bullard HS, scoring 15 goals and posting 12 assists as a senior while leading the Knights to a CIF Central Section title as a sophomore.
Hord joins Aggies defender Ramon Martin Del Campo as former Aggies who have signed professional contracts during the off season. Martin Del Campo signed a deal with Saprissa in Costa Rica back in June.
