US Youth Soccer Region IV to Provide Huge Economic Impact
US Youth Soccer will bring an enormous economic impact to the Seattle region with the Region IV (West) Championships scheduled next month. Over 7,000 players, coaches, team/tournament officials and spectators will travel for a week of soccer action on the West Coast.
Youth Soccer News: The 2017 US Youth Soccer Region IV (West) Championships, set to be held June 19-25, will provide an estimated economic impact of $14 million to the Seattle region. Games will be played at the 60 Acres Soccer Complex in Redmond, Washington.
Local restaurants, hotels, retail stores and others will benefit from the more than 4,800 players, coaches, and team/tournament officials, along with an estimated 3,000 spectators attending the six-day tournament.
More than 230 of the top boys and girls US Youth Soccer teams from Region IV will compete at the 60 Acres Soccer Complex during the event. The state of Washington last hosted the Region IV Championships in 2004, when the tournament took place in Spokane.
“It is an honor to be chosen to hold the US Youth Soccer Region IV Championships in the Seattle area and set the tone for the prized US Youth Soccer National Championships this July in Frisco, Texas,” said Terry Fisher, Executive Director of Washington Youth Soccer. “Soccer means a great deal to this community — from the youth level up to the professional ranks. We are delighted to host the best players and teams from across the region in this elite competition and utilize our top-tier facilities and volunteers.”
US Youth Soccer State Cup champions and select runners-up from 14 US Youth Soccer State Associations in Region IV, including Washington Youth Soccer who will be hosting the event.
Regional winners of the U13 through U19/20 age groups earn a berth to the 2017 US Youth Soccer National Championships, July 24-30, at the Toyota Soccer Center in Frisco, Texas.
