Irvin Herrera Named USL Player of the Week
Irvin Herrera of Saint Louis FC is named USL Player of the Week after recording a hat-trick in a 3-1 victory over San Antonio FC. Vincent Bezecourt of the New York Red Bulls II notched three goals and an assist in two matches as his side claims the 2016 USL Regular Season Championship.
USL Soccer News: Saint Louis FC forward Irvin Herrera has been named USL Player of the Week for the 25th week of the 2016 season. Herrera notched a hat-trick in a road victory versus San Antonio FC at Toyota Field. The El Salvador international scored twice in the first half and once in the second to keep STLFC in playoff position heading into the final stretch of the regular season.
Vincent Bezecourt of the New York Red Bulls II finished second in voting by a national panel of independent media with 31 percent, while Herrera received 38 percent of the poll.

D – Oumar Ballo, Swope Park Rangers: Ballo helped limit Tulsa to only three shots on goal in the Rangers’ 3-0 victory against the Roughnecks on Saturday night.
M – Jimmy-Shammar Sanon, FC Montreal: Sanon’s recorded his first professional goal against Montreal in a 2-1 victory against Charleston last Wednesday.
M – Vincent Bezecourt, New York Red Bulls II: Bezecourt recorded three goals and an assist in two matches as the Red Bulls II claimed the 2016 USL Regular Season Championship.
M – Luke Vercollone, Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC: Vercollone tallied both goals as the Switchbacks defeated Vancouver on the road in a key Western matchup.
M – David Estrada, Charlotte Independence: Estrada recorded a brace as the Independence top Pittsburgh Riverhounds in a 4-0 victory on Saturday night.
M – Magnus Rasmussen, Louisville City FC: Rasmussen’s recorded his first goal of the season during a strong all-around performance in Louisville’s 2-0 win against Richmond.
F – Sean Okoli, FC Cincinnati: Okoli recorded three goals in two matches as Cincinnati edged Saint Louis and Wilmington to move back into the third spot of the East.
F – Irvin Herrera, Saint Louis FC: In his return from international duty with El Salvador, Herrera recorded a hat-trick to lead STLFC to a 3-1 win on the road against San Antonio.
