Soccer News: Dutch Lions FC Join Tournament
International Soccer Network, LLC (ISN) is proud to announce that the Dutch Lions FC will participate in the Shale Soccer Classic Presented by Admiral Sports on July 25, 2015 at Perry High School.
“We are tremendously excited to have the Dutch Lions FC involved with our event,” ISN founder Gary L. Moody Jr. stated. “They are one of the USL’s top franchises and one of the top soccer brands in North America. They are leaders in the beautiful game and are world-class in every regard.”
The Dutch Lions FC operates five franchises across the United States, including Dayton (OH), Cincinnati (OH), Houston (TX), New York, and Cape Coral (FL). Currently the Dutch Lions have three teams in the Premier Development League (PDL), a league under the umbrella of the United Soccer Leagues (USL).
The Dayton Dutch Lions FC are the flagship franchise of the organization, having experienced great success in the PDL, USL PRO, and the U.S. Open Cup. Their biggest moment came in 2012 as the team advanced to the quarterfinals of the Open Cup, defeating the Columbus Crew (MLS) and Michigan Bucks (PDL) before falling to eventual champions Sporting KC (MLS).
The Dutch Lions FC will face a team of former professionals and current college standouts in an exhibition on July 25 at 4:00 pm ET.
“I would like to thank Gary Moody for inviting us to this great event,” Dutch Lions Capital Group B.V. CEO Mike Mossel commented. “Besides the game giving us a great opportunity to present our team, I am very excited to be a part of creating a wonderful event filled with top level soccer and a chance for kids to meet some professional players. Besides watching the game, I encourage everyone to meet our players and coaches on the pitch.”
The Shale Soccer Classic Presented by Admiral Sports was announced in February. It is a national soccer event that includes three high-level matches: two high school/club showcases and one professional exhibition. The event is part of ISN’s commitment to providing high quality events throughout the Midwest region of the U.S.
Tickets are just $10 and will provide admission to all three matches. Further information about the event can be found online, on Facebook, or by following on Twitter.
