First Place On The line As Richmond Hosts Charleston
The longtime rivalry between the Charleston Battery and host Richmond Kickers will mark a pivotal point in Eastern Conference play as both teams are fighting for the driver’s seat entering Week 7 of the USL season.
The Richmond Kickers (4-0-2), in the midst of a four-game winning streak, is tied in points with the Rochester Rhinos atop the East. But right behind them is the Charleston Battery at 4-0-1, with a perfect 2-0-0 road record thus far this season.
Meanwhile in the Western Conference, with first-place Sacramento Republic (4-4-0, 12 points) idle, the standings could look quite different on Monday with five teams within three points of the defending USL champions. Orange County Blues FC (3-1-0, 9 points) will have a daunting task on the road, first against Seattle Sounders FC 2 (3-2-1, 10 points) tonight and then the Portland Timbers 2 (3-2-1, 10 points) on Sunday.

That April 24 game marked only the second loss ever for Republic FC at Bonney Field.
