The Value Of Soccer Coaching Education
State youth organizations continue to recognize the value of soccer coaching education and the Utah Youth Soccer Association (UYSA) is the newest organization to partner with the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).
Through this new partnership, clubs and coaches affiliated with Utah Youth Soccer will be able to take advantage of a range of educational and membership benefits through the NSCAA. Those benefits include full memberships at discount prices, as well as the opportunity to attend a non-residential NSCAA course for non-NSCAA member coaches.
Additionally, Utah Youth Soccer will be the sole provider of NSCAA educational courses in the Beehive State, providing Level 1-6 courses, Level 1-3 Goalkeeper Diplomas and advanced courses such as the National Diploma, Advanced National Diploma and the Director of Coaching (DOC) courses.
“Developing partnerships with organizations like Utah Youth Soccer Association is key to furthering the NSCAA’s mission to influence the game through coaching education,” NSCAA CEO Joe Cummings said. “Our Association is constantly creating new ways to help soccer coaches and we look forward to working with UYSA to offer those opportunities to their coaches.”
UYSA’s Director of Coaching, Eric Landon, added: “Our partnership with the NSCAA, in accordance with our core values and mission statement, will provide our members direct access to increased benefits for educational development targeted to our coaches, administrators and players. UYSA promotes high values such as integrity, education, equality, integrity, high ethics and moral standards; providing inclusive opportunities for everyone to participate, and encouraging teamwork, leadership, respect and family values in the game are values consistent with those of the NSCAA.”
Incorporated in January 1978, the Utah Youth Soccer Association is the state’s largest soccer organization and serves as the governing body for youth soccer in Utah. It is the only organization in Utah that offers playing opportunities to youth players of all ages, playing abilities, and levels of commitment. Utah Youth Soccer Association is a non-profit organization that currently has a membership base of approximately 53,000 youth players, 6,000 active coaches, 1,800 referees and thousands of volunteers through its network of 55 member organizations across the state of Utah.
The NSCAA provides soccer coaches at all levels of competition the best opportunities to feed their passion for the game so they pass it on to players and others in the community. The Association also has a variety of opportunities through which coaches can engage and grow, including NSCAA eLearning and events like the NSCAA Convention and the upcoming NSCAA Summer Series.
Utah Youth Soccer joins a growing list of soccer associations affiliating with the NSCAA. Recently, Massachusetts Youth Soccer and the Massachusetts Premier League (MAPLE) have announced partnerships with the NSCAA.
