UWS Team of the Week
The Team of the Week has been announced by United Women’s Soccer (UWS) as clubs across the United States prepare to take the field during Week 4. New England Mutiny remains atop the Eastern Conference standings, while Santa Clarita Blue Heat recorded their first win of the 2017 campaign.
UWS Soccer News: United Women’s Soccer (UWS) has announced the Team of the Week ahead of the fourth weekend of the 2017 season.
The defending UWS champion Santa Clarita Blue Heat (1-0 West) kicked off in impressive form, defeating newcomers So Cal Crush FC (1-1 West) in a local derby. Real Salt Lake Women (1-1 West) bounced back from a disappointing Week II opener. An outstanding performance by Haley Crawford led the Lancaster Inferno (1-1 East) to their first victory of the Summer 2017 season. The GRFC Women (2-1 Midwest) picked up their second victory of the conference campaign.
UWS Team of the Week (Week 3)
F-Haley Crawford (Lancaster Inferno): Crawford tallied all four goals in a 4-1 win over New York.
F-Carolina Venegas (Santa Clarita Blue Heat): Venegas scored two goals, including the game-winning goal in a 4-0 victory over So Cal Crush FC.
F-Hailey Skolmoski (Real Salt Lake Women): Skolmoski tallied one goal and an assist in a 3-0 win over Calgary.
MF/F-Amelia White (Fort Wayne United Gryphons): White has received No. 1 team nominations in both games. She scored the game-winning goal versus Indy Premier.
MF-Emily Madril (Santa Clarita Blue Heat): Madril scored two goals in a 4-0 victory over So Cal Crush FC.
MF-Annie Steinlage (GRFC Women): Steinlage ran the show in midfield in a 1-0 win over Fort Wayne.
MF-Jacey Pederson (Santa Clarita Blue Heat): Pederson set up the game-winning goal versus So Cal Crush FC.
D/MF-Trisha Clark (Lancaster Inferno): Clark posted a solid defensive performance and tallied an assist in a 4-1 victory over New York.
D-Natalie Norris (Real Salt Lake Women): Norris’ stellar play in the back line helped lead RSL to a 3-0 win over Calgary.
D-Olivia Trombley (GRFC Women): Trombley displayed solid defense in a shutout win over Fort Wayne.
GK-Rebecca Ritchie (Real Salt Lake Women): Ritchie recorded four big saves in a shutout win over Calgary.
