2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup Champions on Victory Tour
The U.S. Women’s National Team wins on the field but when will they win the battle for gender equality?
On the field, there is no one better. As the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup Champions, back on their home turf, kicked off the Victory Tour with a lovely shutout against Ireland, 37,000 fans flocked to cheer for the best of the beautiful game.
USA ROLLS PAST IRELAND 3-0 TO WIN
FIRST MATCH OF 2019 VICTORY TOUR
Defeating the Republic of Ireland 3-0 on August 3 in the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California in the first match post the World Cup, the U.S. Soccer Women’s National team looked strong and happy, and Tobin Heath was able to shine thrilling fans.
While ten players from the USA squad scored in the World Cup, 31-
Lindsey Horan (31′) and Carli Lloyd (41′) also scored resulting in a 3-0 final score.
According to U.S. Soccer, the U.S. dominated possession throughout the match, attaining an 80-20 percent advantage while amassing a 30-2 disparity in shots.

Also watching the match, but from the stands, was Mia Hamm who fans will remember was part of the 1999 National Team that also hoisted the World Cup trophy.
Next on the Schedule: The USWNT players return to their NWSL clubs before the Victory Tour continues with stops in Philadelphia at Lincoln Financial Field on Aug. 29 (7 p.m. ET; FS1) and Minneapolis-St. Paul at Allianz Field on Sept. 3 (7 p.m. CT; ESPN2). Both matches will see the USA take on Portugal.
