Youth Soccer Spotlight: 2016 Cal South National Cup Champions
San Diego’s Albion SC is well known as one of the top youth soccer clubs across the nation for its dedication to providing the highest level of player development and championship youth soccer teams. A youth soccer club that successfully combines igniting the passion for soccer with excellent training, Albion SC consistently produces elite players and fields highly successful teams.
Southern California typically produces the top soccer teams in the country and is a hotbed for talent. Led by strong leadership, San Diego’s Albion SC has a well known development program that has produced resounding success across multiple age brackets. One particular team, the Boys U12 White, has been exceptionally successful.
Coached by Wayne Crowe, Albion SC Director of Soccer & Development, the Boys U12 White competed in their forth consecutive National Cup Finals.
“Coach Wayne beat my record of 3 National Cups in row. Albion has a record of a team winning 3 straight national cups, set by my ’94 team with Ariel Lassiter,” said Noah Gins, Executive Director.
“Wayne has done remarkable things with the development of winning teams. He has mastered the art of coaching youth players and is able to develop into winning teams,” said Gins. “It is a shame the birth year mandate will break this team up as this would have been the nations best by U14, playing for the national championships every year.”
“This group of players is the only team to be in 4 state cup finals in a row in Cal South history. Winning the U9 and now BU12 National Cup,” said Crowe, Director of Soccer & Development. “I have been coaching the group for 5 years, with 5 players being consistent on the team since U8 and 7 players since U9.”
A few years ago, Crowe earned the distinct recognition of Cal South Competitive Coach of the Year and is well known for his sincere commitment to providing a positive learning environment for his players.
